It seems ironic that at nearly twelve at night I feel the need to blog. I think its got to the point where I need to write or else I cannot sleep. I think the concept I’ve engendered is that of “guilt blogging”. On a day like today where I was to busy to do any major blogging it makes me laugh to think that I might be obsessed with blogging. I guess it’s some sort of cathartic outlet (har har). Considering I need to be up in less than six hours I must be mad to be here writing my opinions on a dodgy music video.
Since I’ve had little time to blog today I felt that it would be the launch day for a topic I’ve wanted to talk about for a while. As a major music lover I’ve decided to comment not on the music (as it’s mostly all crap these days) but a new form of art: the music video. For this first issue I’m going to speak about local artist Nicholis Louw’s video called “Hier naby jou”. Translated this means “here by you”. It’s a direct cover of the “Hellogoodbye” song “Here in your arms”. First of all this is a dodgy cover, the guy has a higher English to Afrikaans and back turnover rate than a drive through whorehouse and seems to think he’s sexy.
