I must agree with you that under no circumstances can you “throw someone out of their house or assault them” but I doubt you are living in Alex trying to find food for your family. Our borders are completely porous and we do have an illegal immigrant problem. People were forced to take matters into there own hands and when they do this, the punishment they dole out will never be just or proportional to the crime.

The case of your gf’s maid is nothing but a symptom of gang mentality, someone is always inclined to take things to far. At large I would imagine the people they beat and evicted were illegal immigrants. And while this is wrong, it is the only action available to poor South Africans who have been betrayed by their government (but vote for them anyway).

Maybe instead of these Zimbabweans fighting in Alex they should finally do something in their own country. If they are the hard workers you claim they are, why aren’t they hard at work launching a coup against their dictator who forced them into South Africa in the first place.

I do however think you are vastly wrong on a few issues.

The first one is how can you say all these people are illegal immigrants. I know of one woman who works at my girlfriends house who was forcibly evicted despite being a South African citizen due to the fact that she was originally Zimbabwean. I can see where you talk about illegal immigrants but how do you tell who is who and even if this is the case how do you throw someone out of their house or assault them? This is unacceptable whatever the reason.

Secondly, in the case of the jobs I don’t think I made myself clear. I was talking about the menial jobs that are the only type of work these people can get. South African’s cannot get these jobs because they feel that they are below their stature and feel they deserve more. I do think that the average menial worker needs to differentiate themselves somehow which immigrants obviously can otherwise there would not be a problem.

I think possibly both of us could take off our rose tinted glasses (I’m a strong capitalist and think the commies are dirty hippies) but the fact is the acts pervaded in Alex are disgusting.

On your point about them taking our jobs because they are better at them, this can’t be true, if it was one would imagine there countries would flourish and we would illegally go there. this fact is not disputable.
As for your little crime debate, if they ILLEGALY came here who is to say that that is the last illegal act they will perform.
