MTN clearly hates my business

So I posted a complaint a few days ago about whether pricing was wrong on the latest MTN sales pamphlet and got no response from MTN. I did get a response from non MTN people to say that there was a typo and MTN is actually charging R229 for the Anytime 200 package with the Nokia E71.

Satisfied with this information, I decided to phone an MTN store to see if they had stock of the phone so I could go get it. I phoned Killarney in Joburg which informed me the price was R229 a month. I then phoned Eastgate who told me it was R359 and then another store (I think in Sandton) which told me R309 a month. I then dialed 808 and got through to a nice lady named Samantha.

She informed me the price was R359 for the Anytime 200 package. When I quizzed her about why the Anytime 350 package was the same price she proceeded to tell me that it was because some clients don’t need/want the extra value despite paying the same price.

Clearly I must be an idiot for not understanding the South African demographic who want to pay the same price for something and get less value. Worst of all, someone from MTN must have noticed my blog since straight after I posted my last MTN related rant someone named “MTN SP” put a comment on my blog about the Blackberry Bold.

Can someone at MTN please contact me and help me work this out as I’m going out my mind!
