@Shaun Dewberry "They’ve been at war with every Arab state in the region" ... but don't forget that the same applies the other way, that every Arab state has been on their case too.

It's because religion is retarded and unfortunatley some people take it way too seriously, and those two religions seem to insist on being the cause of all wars and ending the world as we know it.

Saul, if you took someone's house from them, and made them live in your garden, would you expect them to accept it lying down, or fight back? Who, really, is the David and who is the Goliath?

This goes a lot further back than the last set of Quassam rockets and, sadly, many innocents on both sides of the fence. 60 odd years of history are at play here, but I'm sure you know this.

A further possible analogy, which occurred to me but may stretch things, is to ask if Hamas/PLO/pick-a-terrorist-group are to Israel what the ANC were to apartheid South Africa??!!

I don't condone terrorism and I agree that if a ceasefire is broken the perpetrators of that offense deserve the necessary consequences to their actions, but the whole middle east situation has been so effed up for the past half century that I don't think anyone really has a right to dictate any sort of terms in that region. I sure don't have a solution.

Israel cannot expect sympathy when their track record is pretty abysmal. They've been at war with every Arab state in the region, and gone so far as to be at serious conflict with Britain! Put it this way - their PR boys are gonna have to do a hell of a lot of shilling to get their image with the rest of the world improved, and their fire-power, targeted or no, does very little to curry that favour.
